ART-1620 Digital Publication Design Credits 3 Designed to acquaint the student with the fundamentals of publication and print media design. Hands-on training will be provided using a variety of digital media and hardware current to the graphic design profession. Students will gain experience in taking a print media project from concept to page layout and production. Prerequisite(s): ART-1570 6 studio hours. (Not offered summer.)
Course Outcomes
- Identify principles of professional publication design and creative typography.
- Demonstrate a working vocabulary of visual communication concepts, applied art history, and digital media terms.
- Compose publications for print and electronic delivery that employ visual hierarchy, creative typography, and effective layout principles.
- Use essential software, hardware, and correct file management to complete work.
- Assemble an entry-level portfolio of publications.
