ART-2730 Integrated Arts Credits 3 Introduces students to the areas of visual arts, dance, music, theater, and film through an exploration of representative works in these disciplines. The student will experience a variety of artistic performances and exhibitions that will enhance self-expression and develop a better understanding of the human experience. The assignments within the course advance the development of college-level reading, writing, and critical thinking skills through the integration, analysis, and appreciation of the arts. The course meets part of the Maryland State integrative arts requirement for the Associate of Arts in Teaching degree. Prerequisite(s): Reading proficiency. (Not offered summer.)
Course Outcomes
- Explain the interconnection of dance, theater, film, visual arts, and music as disciplines representative of the humanities.
- Analyze works of dance, theater, film, visual arts, and music using appropriate vocabulary germane to each discipline.
- Evaluate a work of art in terms of its subject, form, and content.
- Analyze and articulate, in written form, a personal response to the experience of studying the integration of dance, theatre, film, visual arts, and music.
