ESL-0101 English as a Second Language: Intermediate I Credits 0 Equivalent Hours 3 For nonnative speakers whose English writing and speaking skills are limited. Practice in low intermediate American English grammar and sentence structure. Prerequisite(s): ESL-0100 with grade of C or higher, or placement by exam.
Course Outcomes
- Generate statements, negative statements, yes/no questions, and Wh-questions using the simple, progressive, perfect, and perfect progressive forms in the past, present, and future.
- Distinguish the basic forms and uses of the gerunds and infinitives.
- Write multiple sentences in response to a single prompt using the course target grammar.
- Edit sentence level errors in target grammar and mechanics.
