ESL-0101 English as a Second Language: Intermediate I

For nonnative speakers whose English writing and speaking skills are limited. Practice in low intermediate American English grammar and sentence structure. 
Prerequisite(s): ESL-0100  with grade of C or higher, or placement by exam.

 
Course Outcomes

  1. Generate statements, negative statements, yes/no questions, and Wh-questions using the simple, progressive, perfect, and perfect progressive forms in the past, present, and future.
  2. Distinguish the basic forms and uses of the gerunds and infinitives.
  3. Write multiple sentences in response to a single prompt using the course target grammar.
  4. Edit sentence level errors in target grammar and mechanics.
