HUM-1980 Artistic and Cultural Experiences

This course is an exploration of artistic and cultural experiences in the form of plays, musical and dance performances, art exhibits, films, and/or lectures. The instructional time is divided between attending a number of cultural events, reflecting and writing about them, and discussing (with the instructor) what was learned from attending the cultural events. All three are required to complete this course successfully: event participation, write ups, and discussions.
Course Outcomes

Observe a number of appropriate events in the Arts & Humanities as approved by course guidelines;
Describe how cultural/artistic experiences affect people on individual and broader levels;
Explain how the experience differed from the student’s past experiences with plays, musical and dance performances, art exhibits, films, and/or lectures.
