INT-1540 Computer Hardware I: A+ Credits 4 Diagnosis and troubleshooting techniques for personal computers, peripherals, mobile and networking devices with emphasis on setup, configuration conflicts, and operating system issues. Students will have to study beyond this course to adequately prepare for the A+ certification. Prerequisite(s): INT-1010 3 class/ 2 lab hours. Course Outcomes
- Explain the importance of motherboard components, their purpose, and properties.
- Demonstrate how to install and configure computer hardware and peripheral devices
- Analyze differences between the various print technologies and the associated imaging process.
- Analyze the characteristics of connectors and cabling.
- Explain the properties and characteristics of TCP/IP.
- Explain Internet connection types, network types, and their features.
- Identify network architecture devices, their functions, and features.
- Given a scenario, troubleshoot common problems related to computer hardware and networks.
