MAT-0104 Intermediate Algebra

Preparation for required math classes on the STEM, applied/business, and teacher education pathways. Content includes linear systems; rational expressions and equations; functions and relations; expressions and equations involving radicals and rational exponents; complex numbers, solving and graphing quadratic equations; exponential and logarithmic functions. 
Prerequisite(s):  Appropriate mathematics placement, or completion of MAT-0071  with grade of C or higher.

 
Course Outcomes

  1. Analyze functions and their graphs.
  2. Perform operations on algebraic expressions and simplify results.
  3. Perform operations on functions and simplify results.
  4. Solve quadratic, rational, and radical equations.
  5. Solve application problems involving quadratic, rational, and radical equations.
