PAR-2540 Contracts Credits 3 A survey of the law of contracts and sales. Emphasis is placed on the elements of a contract, the types of sales, and the legal consequences, including breaches, defenses, and remedies. Practice in drafting contracts and sales agreements. Prerequisite(s): Reading proficiency. Course Outcomes
- Describe the elements of a valid contract and the steps involved in the process of contract formation.
- Evaluate the doctrines of freedom of contract, bargains for consideration, and fundamental fairness.
- Compare and contrast the provisions of the common law with those contained in the Uniform Commercial Code.
- Analyze scenarios and cases to determine contract validity, defenses, adequate performance, and payment of damages and other remedies.
