PAR-2540 Contracts


Credits 3
A survey of the law of contracts and sales. Emphasis is placed on the elements of a contract, the types of sales, and the legal consequences, including breaches, defenses, and remedies. Practice in drafting contracts and sales agreements.
Prerequisite(s): Reading proficiency.
Course Outcomes
  1. Describe the elements of a valid contract and the steps involved in the process of contract formation.
  2. Evaluate the doctrines of freedom of contract, bargains for consideration, and fundamental fairness.
  3. Compare and contrast the provisions of the common law with those contained in the Uniform Commercial Code.
  4. Analyze scenarios and cases to determine contract validity, defenses, adequate performance, and payment of damages and other remedies.
