PAR-2610 Legal Ethics

A study of the style, format, content, principles, and techniques of legal writing. Practice in drafting pleadings, agreements, contracts, legal documents, trial briefs, and memoranda.
Prerequisite(s): Reading proficiency.
Course Outcomes
  1. Discuss the basic rules of ethics, professionalism, and confidentiality in the legal environment.
  2. Evaluate the unauthorized practice of law and the consequences of unethical behavior.
  3. Prepare case law research, briefing, and legal citations.
  4. Interpret the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct.
