PHL-2220 Metaphysics

Credits 3
Exploration of the basic criteria for determining what is real; the sensible versus the supersensible; the tangible versus the nonphysical; the concrete versus the abstract.
Prerequisite(s): EGL-1010  or PHL-1010 , PHL-1090  or PHL-1330 , or permission of instructor.
Course Outcomes
  1. Identify different schools of metaphysics.
  2. Evaluate competing metaphysical claims.
  3. Construct rational arguments to defend metaphysical positions.
  4. Apply metaphysical theories to contemporary issues.
