Historical and current concepts of death and dying, including implications of euthanasia and suicide. 
Prerequisite(s): Reading proficiency.
Course Outcomes
  1. Define the term death from a psychological, sociological, and legal perspective.
  2. Apply ethical standards to evaluate psychological science and practice. 
  3. Apply psychological concepts and theories to the study of death and dying.
  4. Discuss how death is viewed by children, adolescents, and adults.
  5. Explain legal and ethical perspectives on death and dying.
  6. Explain how death is perceived in world religions.
  7. Discuss major causes of death across the life span.
