PSY-2070 Human Growth & Development Credits 3 Life-span psychology covers the physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and moral development of the individual from conception until death. Prerequisite(s): PSY-1010 Course Outcomes
- Apply the concepts and major theoretical approaches to the study of life-span developmental psychology, including the biological, psychodynamic, behavioral and sociocultural perspectives.
- Evaluate research methods used by developmental psychologists including descriptive, experimental, cross- sectional, longitudinal and cross-sequential methodologies.
- Distinguish the differences between the influence of heredity, environmental context, and culture on one’s physical, cognitive, psychosocial and moral development.
- Explain issues related to development across the life span.
- Apply ethical psychological principles to issues related to development across the life span.
- Use appropriate technology to obtain scholarly information for the purpose of writing or making presentations on relevant psychological topics.
