PSY-2100 Psychology of Women

An introductory course focusing on developmental, ecological, psychological and gender issues relevant to women.
Prerequisite(s): PSY-1010  
Course Outcomes
  1. Explain the major concepts, theoretical orientations, and empirical findings regarding the study of women.
  2. Interpret research methods used in studying the psychology of women.
  3. Compare and contrast the major milestones in the development of women from infancy to adulthood including cultural factors.
  4. Apply ethical principles to the study of the conditions affecting women globally.
  5. Evaluate issues facing women worldwide including gender stereotyping and violence.
  6. Apply information literacy skills to research and write report/presentation about current psychological issues in women’s studies.
