SPN-1020 Spanish for Advanced Beginners

Spanish for Advanced Beginners, SPN 1020, is a second-semester Spanish class that focuses on skills development in listening, speaking, reading, and writing Spanish, along with cultural elements from the Spanish-speaking world.
Prerequisite(s): SPN-1010  or two years of high school Spanish or equivalent.
Spanish courses meet for 3 class hours and 1 additional lab hour per week or equivalent.
Course Outcomes
  1. Communicate in spoken Spanish in the present and past tenses using everyday expressions and elementary vocabulary.
  2. Listen to elementary Spanish in the present and past tenses for comprehension.
  3. Read elementary Spanish in the present and past tenses for comprehension.
  4. Apply basic knowledge of Spanish sentence structure and grammar in the present and past tenses to write a topical paragraph.
  5. Examine examples of culture and civilization in the Spanish-speaking world.
