SPN-1020 Spanish for Advanced Beginners Credits 3 Spanish for Advanced Beginners, SPN 1020, is a second-semester Spanish class that focuses on skills development in listening, speaking, reading, and writing Spanish, along with cultural elements from the Spanish-speaking world. Prerequisite(s): SPN-1010 or two years of high school Spanish or equivalent. Spanish courses meet for 3 class hours and 1 additional lab hour per week or equivalent. Course Outcomes
- Communicate in spoken Spanish in the present and past tenses using everyday expressions and elementary vocabulary.
- Listen to elementary Spanish in the present and past tenses for comprehension.
- Read elementary Spanish in the present and past tenses for comprehension.
- Apply basic knowledge of Spanish sentence structure and grammar in the present and past tenses to write a topical paragraph.
- Examine examples of culture and civilization in the Spanish-speaking world.
