TRF-2040 Introduction to Broadcast News

Provides training in electronic news gathering, interviewing, story developing, reporting, editing and producing news for radio and television.
Prerequisite(s): Reading and oral proficiencies or ESL-0106  (formerly ESL-1060) with a grade of C or higher.

  1. Identify various theoretical, philosophical, and practical approaches to broadcast news writing.
  2. Develop broadcast news writing and delivery techniques for radio and television.
  3. Analyze and interpret news articles.

  6. Apply ethical standards in journalism.
  7. Write stories about various cultures and global issues.
