TRF-2310 Introduction to Film Credits 3 Historical, artistic and sociological trends of the cinema, supplemented by film viewing and analysis. Credit may not be received for both EGL 2310 and TRF 2310. Prerequisite(s): Reading and oral proficiencies or ESL-0106 (formerly ESL-1060) with grade of C or higher. Note: (Not offered summer.) Course Outcomes
- Examine the historical developments and future trends of the film industry including social, economic, and political factors.
- Explain the concepts of Film Production, Distribution, and Exhibition.
- Identify the major characteristics of the various genres in filmmaking.
- Explain the various techniques used in film production.
- Explain film form and narrative structure including the Classical Paradigm
- Discuss film history and theory, including the artistic and stylistic developments.
- Define Film Style, including realism and expressionism
- Develop and pitch a film treatment.
- Evaluate a film by writing a Detailed Film Critique.
