BMT-2590 Employee Training and Development Credits 3 In this course students are introduced to effective organizational training and development in the workplace. Students begin by examining the different theories of development training. This serves as the basis for a needs assessment using a SWOT analysis. Students examine the cost effectiveness of a training, as well as the benefits and challenges associated with the use of technology in organizational training. Additionally, students examine how to determine the appropriate training methods and evaluate the effectiveness of trainings. Prerequisite(s): Reading readiness Formerly Formerly offered as MGT-2590. Students may not receive credit for both MGT-2590 and BMT-2590. Course Outcomes
- Examine the theories of development training.
- Use a SWOT analysis to complete a needs assessment of development training.
- List the factors for determining cost effectiveness of a development training.
- Determine the appropriate training method for various situations.
- Use appropriate tools to evaluate the effectiveness of a development training.
