BMT-2650 Purchasing Contracting and Materials Management Credits 3 This course addresses the processes for purchasing and materials management. Students will learn how to analyze requirements and determine specifications, as well as implement appropriate source evaluation, vendor selection, pricing analysis, and inventory control techniques. Prerequisite(s): Reading readiness Formerly (Formerly offered as MGT-2650. Students may not receive credit for both MGT-2650 and BMT-2650.) Course Outcomes
- Analyze basic procurement functions.
- Differentiate between various grades and qualities of goods and products.
- Assess common components of purchasing agreements.
- Describe various methods of inventory control.
- Select applicable process for purchase of goods and services.
- Explain the moral and legal responsibilities of buyers and sellers.
