Prerequisite(s): CSM-1830. Note: CSM-1410 may additionally be required, depending on student’s math aptitude. See coordinator to determine if this is needed. Course Outcomes
- Given a complete set of construction documents for a project, determine the quantities of materials and labor needed to create an estimate.
- Given an estimate for a project, determine the necessary overhead, contingencies, and profit to produce a bid document.
- For different estimating systems, contrast the amount of effort and detail put into the estimate with the accuracy of the estimate produced by that method.
- Use reference sources such as handbooks and the Internet to estimate any incompletely specified portions of the construction documents.
