CSM-2500 Construction Surveying Credits 3 A course designed for construction personnel who must implement and lay out a site development plan. Lectures and hands-on field work help the student develop an understanding and use of the builder transit/level in all phases of construction. Prerequisite(s): MAT-1130 completed or concurrent. Course Outcomes
- Use the level to transfer vertical control from a known elevation to an unknown elevation.
- Use the transit and the traverse to maintain horizontal control.
- Create and implement a system for maintaining horizontal and vertical control as a building structure rises.
- Determine the percentage of grade or steepness of slope.
- Calculate vertical and horizontal distances.
- Demonstrate proper use and care of surveying equipment.
- Determine the appropriate level of accuracy required for a given situation.
