CJT-1730 Introduction to Security

An introduction to the basic principles and concepts of security and asset protection, from historical and modern-day points of view. Emphasis is on the protection of assets, personnel and facilities involving both private and government entities.
Course Outcomes
 

  1. Describe the evolution and definition of asset protection and security.
  2. Demonstrate the proper procedures for taking notes, writing reports, conducting patrols and maintaining control.
  3. Discuss the usage of physical security applications, including alarms systems, dispatch centers and access control.
  4. Explain the proper legal and operational procedures for handling emergency situations.
