A study of the administration of police, including the organizational structure, function and theory related to the practice of police management. This course will provide students with a conceptual and theoretical foundation upon which to study law enforcement administration and management through critical evaluation of present-day challenges and concerns related to the field.
Prerequisite(s): Reading readiness.
Course Outcomes

Analyze the foundations of law enforcement administration in the United States.
Discuss the theoretical and practical aspects of organization and leadership in law enforcement agencies.
Evaluate the management of law enforcement agencies, including communications, union relations and budgets.
Analyze organizational and legal issues within law enforcement agencies.
