EGL-2090 World Literature from the Beginnings to the 16th Century Credits 3 An introduction to world literature from the beginnings through the 16th century, including literary works from non-western and western cultures. Prerequisite(s): EGL-1020, EGL-1100, EGL-1320, or EGL-1340. Course Outcomes
- Identify authors, works, and genres of world literature extending from the beginnings through the sixteenth century.
- Explain literary motifs and devices in the varying forms of world literature.
- Analyze major works in world literature using biographical, cultural, and/or sociopolitical contexts.
- Using correct documentation, write an analytical essay on a significant subject/topic in world literature.
