FSC-1200 Principles of Building Construction (Combustible) Credits 1 Provides knowledge about the classification system of buildings; the importance of fire resistance for structural support elements; and the risks associated with performing fire suppression activities inside and around buildings involved in fire. Note: NOTE: Fire Science courses are restricted to employees and volunteers of the Fire/EMS Department. Fire Science courses are taught by the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute (MFRI) at various locations within the state of Maryland. Credits for the MFRI courses will be transferred into the college based upon the recommendation of the American Council of Education (ACE) as published in the current edition of the National Guide to Educational Credit for Training Programs.
