HIM-1550 Human Disease Processes and Pharmacology

This course introduces students to disease pathology and pharmacology. The course content includes the etiology, signs, symptoms and diagnostic procedures of human diseases. Students review the major body systems, disease prevention and progress as well as current medical treatments.
Prerequisite(s): HIM-1500, HIM-1530.
Course Outcomes
 

  1. Explain the causes of a variety of human diseases
  2. List the signs and symptoms of human diseases in a variety of body systems
  3. Describe diagnostic procedures related to diseases.
  4. Identify pharmacological substances to reduce risk of disease
  5. Identify pharmacological substances to treat human diseases
