HSM-2530 Hospitality Sales and Marketing Credits 3 This course is about hospitality marketing and the principles exercised to introduce products, services, destinations, and current industry trends. It emphasizes issues relating to sustainable marketing, corporate social responsibility and relationship marketing. The focus is on explaining the functions, market analysis, feasibility studies and competition amongst the various segments in the hospitality industry. It recognizes the variety of tools to showcase the features and benefits of hospitality in advertising, public relations, merchandising, print and non-print media. Prerequisite(s): HSM-1510. - Explain the relationship between products and services in the hospitality industry
- Outline the steps in the marketing process
- Identify characteristics that affect hospitality marketing
- Identify how demographic and economic environments affect marketing.
- Explain revenue management and its relationship to hospitality sales and marketing.
- Describe distribution channels and marketing intermediaries that assist in generating hospitality sales
- Conduct a simple Competitor Analysis (SWOT - Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat).
