INT-1450 CCNA I - Introduction to Networking


Credits 4
First of a three-course sequence preparing students for Cisco CCNA certification.  The course includes OSI and TCP/IP models; Ethernet concepts and operation; TCP and UDP protocols and ports; network design using IPv4 and IPv6 subnets; router and switch configuration and network security.   This course charges an additional fee.  
3 class/2 lab hours.
Course Outcomes
 

  1. Configure workstations with appropriate IP addresses, subnet masks, and gateways.
  2. Configure a router with appropriate IP addresses and subnet masks.
  3. Configure routers and switches with hostnames, passwords, and remote access capability.
  4. Design and implement a system of network addresses and subnets for a given set of network requirements.
  5. Use common network utilities to verify the operation of a small network.
  6. Configure routers and switches with device hardening features to enhance security.

  7. Design and implement a small network consisting of a single router, switches, and workstations.
