INT-2150 Problem Solving with Databases

Using the Microsoft Access application, students learn to create, manage, and modify databases using tables, queries, forms, and reports. Advanced features include the use of sub-forms, PivotTables, and macros. Using Microsoft Access, students construct a variety of tables, relationships, queries, forms, and reports to solve financial, statistical and logical problems. This course helps prepare students for Microsoft Office Specialist certification exam.

Prerequisite(s): INT-1010 with grade of C or higher.
Formerly (Formerly offered as INT-1150 . Students may not receive credit for both INT-1150 and INT-2150.)
2 class/2 lab hours.
Course Outcomes
1. Produce database design using normalization and entity-relationship (E-R) modeling.
2. Construct a variety of tables, relationships, queries, forms, and reports to solve financial, statistical and logical problems.
3. Use advanced tools such as Access’s sub-forms, PivotTables, and Microsoft SQL.
4. Create macros and modules to enhance database functionality.
