INT-2682 Introduction to Cybersecurity Analyst

In this course, students learn the fundamentals, deployment, integration, and management of cyber-analytics tools that may include open source and vendor-specific solutions, such as Fortinet’s solutions. Skills taught in this course include device registration, policy packages, shared objects, centralized logging and reporting, and troubleshooting, features that are critical to day-to-day use. In interactive labs, learners explore system administration and management, register devices for log collection and centralization, perform forensic analysis of logs based on simulated network attacks, create reports, and explore solutions to common misconfiguration issues. The course objectives support the CompTIA CySA+ certification.

Course Outcomes
 

  1. Administer a centralized network with multiple next-generation firewall devices.
  2. Perform forensic analysis of logs based on simulated attacks.
  3. Integrate a security information and event management (SIEM) system into a network awareness infrastructure.
  4. Identify environmental reconnaissance techniques using appropriate tools and process.
  5. Determine threat behavior, impact, and countermeasures.
  6. Analyze the output of a vulnerability scan.
