HNV-2550 Public Health Advocacy and Leadership in Action


Credits 3
This course focuses on advocacy in advancing public health policies and leadership development. Students analyze various strategies in health policy and use that knowledge to develop advocacy messages. Students compare and contrast various leadership models and styles with a focus on personal integrity and respect, appropriate for public health advocacy and leadership. Formerly HLE 2550 (Public Health Advocacy and Leadership in Action). Students may not receive credit for both HLE 2550 and HNV 2550.
Prerequisite(s): HLE 2420 with a grade of C or higher.
Course Outcomes
1. Discuss levels of advocacy in health policy. 2. Analyze strategies in health policy. 3. Develop advocacy messages. 4. Compare and contrast leadership models and styles in health policy.
