ACC-2250 Business Finance


Credits 3
This course provides an overview of capital markets and the banking system. Students study the domestic and international financial markets, and use financial analysis techniques to evaluate investments and business decisions. The net present value concept is emphasized as an underlying concept in corporate finance.
Prerequisite(s): ACC-1002 and MAT-1250
Course Outcomes
1. Explain the role of finance in the domestic and international marketplaces, using theory, institutional background information, and analytical tools.

2. Apply the net present value concept to valuation computations as they relate to business decisions.

3. Apply financial models to investment vehicles in primary and secondary markets. 

4. Evaluate financial performance through the use of liquidity, asset management, leverage, profitability and market-based ratios.

5. Analyze financial market data incorporating the relationship between risk and return.
