ART-2620 Digital Illustration Credits 3 Provides a survey of computer-based methods of producing artwork used commercially. This includes extensive use of object-oriented and image processing software packages. Projects may include package design, editorial support illustration, logo/icon design, creative Web pages, statistical charts and graphs, and technical illustration. Prerequisite(s): ART-1570. 6 studio hours. Course Outcomes
- Identify historical examples of illustration, as well as cultural and technological influences on illustration.
- Apply advanced tools within Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to original compositions.
- Apply ethical standards of copyright to illustrations.
- Demonstrate the stages of developing a visual solution.
- Create original illustrations for professional application using a variety of media.
- Evaluate the design, content, and narrative of student work with the elements of art, principles of design, and visual communication terminology.
