ESL 0081 is the first reading course in the English as a Second Language reading/writing series. It is for non-native English speakers whose academic reading ability is limited. In this course, students learn to understand academic texts through using a variety of reading comprehension strategies such as finding the main idea and using text markers and context to infer meaning in a text.
