Life-span psychology covers the physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and moral development of the individual from conception until death.
Prerequisite(s): PSY-1010
Course Outcomes
  1. Apply the concepts and major theoretical approaches to the study of life-span developmental psychology, including the biological, psychodynamic, behavioral and sociocultural perspectives. 
  2. Evaluate research methods used by developmental psychologists including descriptive, experimental, cross- sectional, longitudinal and cross-sequential methodologies.
  3. Distinguish the differences between the influence of heredity, environmental context, and culture on one’s physical, cognitive, psychosocial and moral development.
  4. Explain issues related to development across the life span.
  5. Apply ethical psychological principles to issues related to development across the life span.
  6. Use appropriate technology to obtain scholarly information for the purpose of writing or making presentations on relevant psychological topics.
