TRF-2510 Social Media Production Credits 3 This course explores and applies effective communication techniques in personal branding and business marketing strategies, utilizing online story-sharing vehicles and digital media. Students study Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Tiktok, WhatsApp, podcasts, wikis, and other mass mediated sharing services. Topics also include a look at how society, culture, and politics affect social media messaging, and the laws and regulations that impact social media. Prerequisite(s): TRF 1310 or TRF 1510 3 class hours. Course Outcomes
- Identify techniques to integrate social media into communication strategies for business marketing, self-promotion, and everyday life.
- Summarize social media messaging efficacy.
- Analyze social media tools used on various platforms to address a specific target market for self-promotion and business marketing.
- Examine the dissemination of news and information using social media platforms on convergent digital media.
- Analyze legal implications of using social media for business and/or personal “branding”.
- Describe the influence of social media, including media research, effects, and major contemporary issues in society, culture and politics.
- Conduct media research on a topic related to social media production using appropriate research tools.
