MAT-2160 Applied Calculus I 3 Credits First course in a two-course sequence of applied calculus for business and social and life sciences majors. Topics include limits, differentiation, integration, functions of several variables including partial derivatives, and applications. Math general education class. Prerequisite(s): Math placement score or MAT-1350 with grade of C or higher. Students must enroll in a general education math course appropriate for their program of study within their first 18 hours of credit-bearing courses. A grade of C or higher is required for any course used to satisfy a prerequisite for any other math course. All mathematics courses require extensive use of a computer and/or a graphing calculator. Chapter six provides an overview of the sequences of courses offered by the Mathematics Department. Course descriptions should be checked for specific prerequisites. In addition, all math courses have a prerequisite of reading proficiency.
