Program Description
This program is also available completely online.
The Accounting Certificate is designed for persons who desire to enter the accounting field in government and private industry. Graduates prepare to function in entry-level accounting positions, or may meet the requirements to enter into the governmental accounting series. Through their coursework, students learn how to process financial transactions, prepare financial statements, manage internal control processes, and identify basic business-related legal concepts. All of the courses in this program can be applied to the Accounting Professional, A.A.S program.
Program Outcomes
Graduates of the Accounting Certificate will be able to:
- Process financial transactions through the accounting cycle in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Evaluate internal control processes.
- Identify basic legal concepts and the impacts on business operations.
