Program Description


This program prepares students for entry-level jobs in Network programming and automation. Students who complete this program will be prepared to take the Cisco DevNet Associate Certification. This entry-level industry certification validates a student’s skill in configuring and securing medium sized networks, networking programmability, and using software to automate and deploy networks. All courses within this program can be used as part of the Cybersecurity A.A.S degree.

Program Outcomes


Graduates of the Network Programming and Automation Certificate will be able to:

  1. Apply fundamental information technology concepts in order to manage files and effectively use a variety of information technology tools.
  2. Configure and troubleshoot secure local area networks using routers and switches.
  3. Create REST API requests over HTTPS to securely integrate services.
  4. Use software development and design best practices to deploy secure applications and data in a cloud environment.
  5. Compare and contrast software testing and deployment methods in automation and simulation environments.
  6. Write scripts using Python and Linux tools to automate tasks related to systems and network administration, including through a command-line interface.
