TRF-2410 Advanced Audio Production Credits 3 Audio Production for radio, podcasting, television, film, and emerging media. Couse includes the study and application of audio techniques for mass-mediated messages, and the use of technology for non-linear audio editing. This course is part of the Media Production Certificate. Prerequisite(s): TRF-1410 or TRF-1330 with a C grade or higher 3 class/2 lab hours. Course Outcomes
- Describe the technological basis of sound connected to a mass mediated message including but not limited to the persistence of vision, radio wave modulation, and electronic picture processing.
- Identify major technical and artistic innovations in the audio planning, recording, and playback.
- Analyze the major factors influencing the growth of broadcasting, including the reason for government regulation, the introduction and development of radio and television for public use, the purposes and current issues involving cable transmission and the news and information functions of broadcasting.
- Analyze the legal and social controls on sound reproduction as it relates to radio, television, film, and emerging media.
- Create a report related to a media research project.
- Develop an audio project using design, technology, and artistic components of sound.
