PRF-2803 Crew Experience


Credits 1
PRF 2803 provides students studying Theatre Performance, Theatre Design, Entertainment Technology, or Dance the opportunity to engage in practicum application of backstage operations in support of events. Explorations in the divergent roles and functions of backstage personnel are undertaken to begin establishing a professional canon. This course consists of a lecture component (.5 hours each week) and a laboratory session (1.5 hours each week). Students enrolled in this course are required to attend the live theatre performance(s) listed in the syllabus outside of scheduled class time. This experience is vital to understanding and learning about the performing arts and is tied directly to significant assignments in this class. Students enrolled in this course will be required to participate in a culminating performance to demonstrate proficiency in the course outcomes. Therefore, students will be required to attend production hours outside of scheduled class time during the final exam period to attend a technical rehearsal, final dress rehearsal, and performance. The specific requirements and details regarding the live theatre performance(s) and culminating performance are outlined in the syllabus. Students should pay special attention to these requirements.
Prerequisite(s): Reading proficiency levels.
