CHM-2050 Instrumental Analysis 4 Credits The use of scientific instruments in forensic testing is the focus of this course. Lectures and laboratories cover instrumentation theory, data systems, method development and qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques. Techniques discussed with laboratory activities include gas chromatography (GC), infrared spectrometry (IR), ultraviolet-visible spectrometry (UV-Vis), high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). (Credit will not be given for CHM-2050). Prerequisite(s): CHM-1020 and CHM-1030 . 3 class/4 lab hours. (Offered spring only.)
