SGT-2050 Surgical Procedures II 3 Credits Intermediate level of the surgical procedures series of classes within the Surgical Technology Program. Focuses on advance surgical procedures such as Peripheral Vascular Surgery, Otorhinolaryngologic Surgery, Neurologic Surgery, and other specialties as deemed necessary by the instructor. In addition to new concepts in surgical intervention, more complicated types of instrumentation are introduced. Students will continue to learn to anticipate surgeon’s needs through the process of association and the identification of applied surgical patterns. Prerequisite(s): SGT-2010 with a grade of C or higher; SGT-2100 concurrent; BIO-2010 completed or concurrent. 2 lecture/3 lab hours. SGT courses are offered once per year in the fall, spring, and summer sessions I and II. A grade of C or higher must be maintained in all prerequisites, program courses, and required science courses.
