TED-2800 Materials for Teaching Reading

3 Credits
Introduces students to a variety of materials to be used for the purposes of developing phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, comprehension and fluency. Students will learn to select and evaluate materials as well as utilize the expertise of parents and other members of the community to help fulfill goals of the reading program. This course is intended for those persons who have a bachelor’s degree and are seeking initial teacher certification and for teachers seeking recertification.
Prerequisite(s): Departmental permission required.
All TED courses must be passed with a grade of C or higher.
