A survey of British literature from the Romantic period to modern times and its historical and cultural background.
Prerequisite(s): EGL-1020, EGL-1100, EGL-1320, or EGL-1340.

Course Outcomes

Identify significant authors and analyze works and genres of British literature from the early nineteenth century to the present, including writers in English-speaking countries other than the United States, applying literary terms and concepts.
Analyze significant works in terms of their biographical, cultural, and/or sociopolitical contexts.
Write an analytical essay that addresses a relevant topic in British literature with correctly documented sources.
