EGL-2030 British Literature of the 19th and 20th Centuries Credits 3 A survey of British literature from the Romantic period to modern times and its historical and cultural background. Prerequisite(s): EGL-1020 , EGL-1100 , EGL-1320 , or EGL-1340 . (Not offered summer.)
Course Outcomes
- Identify significant authors and analyze works and genres of British literature from the early nineteenth century to the present, including writers in English-speaking countries other than the United States, applying literary terms and concepts.
- Analyze significant works in terms of their biographical, cultural, and/or sociopolitical contexts.
- Write an analytical essay that addresses a relevant topic in British literature with correctly documented sources.
