MAT-1350 Precalculus Part 1

Graphing and analysis of functions; study of polynomial, rational, radical, exponential and logarithmic functions; polynomial and rational inequalities; systems of nonlinear equations; basic trigonometric functions of sine, cosine and tangent, their graphs, and right and oblique triangle applications.
Prerequisite(s): Appropriate mathematics placement, or completion of MAT-0104  with grade C or higher.
3 class/1 recitation hours.
Course Outcomes
  1. Analyze equations and their graphs, including algebraic, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions. 
  2. Perform operations on expressions and simplify results, including algebraic, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric expressions. 
  3. Perform operations on functions and simplify results, including algebraic, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions. 
  4. Solve equations and inequalities and verify solutions, including algebraic, exponential, and logarithmic functions, and trigonometric formulas. 
  5. Solve application problems, including linear, quadratic, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric applications. 
  6. Find solutions to systems of equations.
