MAT-1350 Precalculus Part 1 Credits 3 Graphing and analysis of functions; study of polynomial, rational, radical, exponential and logarithmic functions; polynomial and rational inequalities; systems of nonlinear equations; basic trigonometric functions of sine, cosine and tangent, their graphs, and right and oblique triangle applications. Prerequisite(s): Appropriate mathematics placement, or completion of MAT-0104 with grade C or higher. 3 class/1 recitation hours. Course Outcomes
- Analyze equations and their graphs, including algebraic, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions.
- Perform operations on expressions and simplify results, including algebraic, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric expressions.
- Perform operations on functions and simplify results, including algebraic, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions.
- Solve equations and inequalities and verify solutions, including algebraic, exponential, and logarithmic functions, and trigonometric formulas.
- Solve application problems, including linear, quadratic, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric applications.
- Find solutions to systems of equations.
