MAS-2040 Professional Seminar Credits 1 Prepares students for the externship experience. Focuses on the traits and behaviors of the professional medical assistant, and the importance of credentialing. This course is a review of the general, administrative, and clinical concepts and competencies based on national guidelines for medical assisting graduates. Prerequisite(s): MAS-2010 , MAS-2020 and MAS-2030 completed or concurrent. (Offered spring only.)
Course Outcomes
- Compare and contrast the general competencies required for medical assisting graduates
- Compare and contrast the role of a medical assistant in both the administrative and clinical setting
- Solve clinical simulation exercises designed to simulate patient management problems relevant to clinical practice in medical assisting
