NUM-2130 Clinical Nuclear Medicine III Credits 3 This course is a directed, competency-based experience in a different affiliated hospital from previous clinical experience courses. Clinical experience courses provide the opportunity for students to observe, practice, and perform routine diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures. Licensed and certified technologists provide critiques, guidance, and mentorship to the students. On-site lectures by board-certified physicians supplement the clinical experience. This is the third course in a sequence of five clinical education courses; students will have the opportunity to demonstrate an increased level of independence and competence when performing various skills requisite of the nuclear medicine technologist. Prerequisite(s): NUM-2120 with grade of C or higher. Corequisite(s): NUM-2120 with grade of C or higher. Course Outcomes
- Perform routine quality control on the eluate.
- Perform radio-pharmaceutical compounding and quality control.
- Evaluate instrumentation quality control data against acceptable ranges.
- Assist with administrative duties, such as scheduling patients according to department procedure.
