MUS-1420 Digital Audio Workstation DAW (Pro Tools) Credits 3 This course will expose the student to the processes of recording and editing digital audio, MIDI data, plugin instruments, mixing in the box and exporting to a permanent recording destination. Prerequisite(s): MUS-1000 , and MUS-1500 with a grade of “C” or higher. Corequisite(s): MUS-1440 . Course Outcomes
- Set up a new project template with appropriate tracks and routing in a DAW
- Demonstrate knowledge of signal flow within the software and routing alternatives
- Demonstrate the application of the different file types and their uses and functions in a DAW
- Demonstrate the appropriate use plug-in effects and instruments with proper system management in a DAW
- Demonstrate keyboard short cuts to streamline work flow
- Demonstrate proper hard drive and file storage management
