ART-2900 Portfolio Development for Visual Arts Credits 1 This studio-based course provides a structured approach to portfolio development. Students begin with formulating career goals and aspirations and match these with their educational and (desired) employment tracks. Based on this, students select a variety of artifacts. This cohesive body of artwork is combined with professional documents, such as a resume and biography, to create a portfolio. Students prepare and format their portfolio relative to their area of specialization. This portfolio can be used for academic transfer and/or employment opportunities.
This course is the capstone course for the Visual Communication (VisComm) Graphic Design, AAS degree. Student in this degree must have a 2.0 GPA or higher to enroll in this course. Students may enroll when they have met the prerequisites and completed three-quarters of the program credits. Prerequisite(s): ART-1510, ART-1530, completion of a 2000-level studio art course and a second 2000-level studio art course completed or concurrent. Capstone Course(s): Culminating Experience: Students must have a 2.0 GPA or higher. Students may enroll when they have met the prerequisites and completed three-quarters of the program major. 3 studio hours. Course Outcomes
