BIO-2060 Human Anatomy and Physiology II

Credits 4
This course is a continuation of Human Anatomy & Physiology I.  Students learn basic human anatomy and physiology principles including the structural organization of the human body, homeostasis and feedback mechanisms. Students study gross anatomy, histology and the structural and functional relationships that exist within the cardiovascular, immune, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems.  Students also analyze how these systems help the body maintain homeostasis. Laboratory includes both gross and microscopic anatomy as well dissections and physiology experiments.
Prerequisite(s): BIO-2050
3 class/3 lab hours.
Course Outcomes

  1. Describe relationships between structure and function that exist within the cardiovascular, lymphatic/immune, respiratory, digestive, urinary, endocrine, and reproductive systems.
  2. Analyze how the cardiovascular, lymphatic/immune, respiratory, digestive, urinary, endocrine, and reproductive systems help the body maintain homeostasis.
  3. Arrange anatomical structures into the different levels of anatomical organization (e.g., cellular level or organ level).
