EGL-2110 World Literature from the 17th Century to the Present

An introduction to world literature from the 17th century to the present, including literary works from non-Western and Western cultures.  
Honors version available.
Prerequisite(s): EGL-1020, EGL-1100, EGL-1320, or EGL-1340.
Course Outcomes
  1. Identify authors, works, and genres of world literature from the 17th century to the present.
  2. Explain literary motifs and devices in the varying genres of world literature.  
  3. Analyze major works in world literature using biographical, cultural, and/or sociopolitical contexts.
  4. Using correct documentation, write an analytical essay on a significant subject/topic in world literature.
